Staff Health and Immunity

Policy

We strongly recommend all staff be fully vaccinated against commonly occurring vaccine-preventable diseases. Maintaining immunity helps reduce risk of personal disease and transmission to patients.

Understanding staff immunity helps reduce the spread of disease if there is a community outbreak. In this situation, we may ask unimmunised staff to stay home or work remotely if possible.

We offer all staff free influenza immunisation. In addition, all clinical staff are offered free Hepatitis B and TB immunisation.
